QUOTE: “Non-violent resistance to injustice was a good strategy for southern civil rights leaders.”
- Agree
Non-violent protests are good method to bring a change. African American students in college insisted on serving their order at a lunch counter in the Woolworth's drugstore in Greensboro and on July 25, 1960, the first African American ate at there. Therefore, non-violent protests produce a good consequence without violence.
-Disagree
Non-violent resistances cause meaningless deaths or injures of people. On May,4 1961, seven blacks who were on the Freedom Rides, attacked by a white mob and the buses could be operated as federal marshals escorted them. Therefore, it's not fair to say that Non-violent resistance was an effective strategy.
